Hello Nigeria. It is the end of the year already, it s time to have fun and enjoy the holiday season. One other thing that accompany this season is how much money is spent as we try to enjoy the season.

Sometimes we spend so much that we become broke in January. The truth is that there is no need to become frivolous in spending.

I am going to list three reasons we tend to spend too much in December.

1. Marketers reduce prices of a lot of items that they have not been able to sell since January. This makes end of year shoppers buy more.

2. For employees, there is more money in circulation because they get a 13th month salary from their employers so they get the feeling of having excess to spend.

3. There is this thing attached to this season that makes us spend. Everybody is spending so why not me.

There are three ways we can avoid over spending this season.

1. When you are going to the market to buy items, list them and write probable cost. Then when you get to the market, buy those things alone. No matter how cheap an item is don’t buy them if you don’t absolutely need them at the moment.

2. Your 13th month is not a lot of money, most times it is just your basic salary alone so why waste it because you are caught in the moment. There are thing you could use it for that would amount to spending it but that will be gainful spending.

3. Yes we all want to buy a lot this season but you should have a budget on how you want to spend the holiday and stick to it. If you see people spending a lot, you don’t know how their pocket is. And they might be frivolous.
