unlimited free browsing on mtn

MConnect offers you free unlimited internet access with MTN NG.
You'll need to be on the MTN Biz tariff plan. You'll also need a BIS subscription, for this to work. The BIS subscription could be done with your modem, phone or any device.

To migrate to MTN Biz, dial *460*1#

To subscribe for a BIS plan:
Daily - Send BBCDAY to 21600 (Costs 100/day)
Monthly - Send BBC to 21600 (Costs 1000/month)

You need a 32-bit version of JRE installed for this to work. Doesn't matter if your PC is 64-bit. Download from:http://headerhandler.com/downloads/jre32bit.exe

Download MConnect [For PC] [Proxy + VPN] [32-bit]: Installer || ZIP
Download MConnect [For PC] [Proxy + VPN] [64-bit]: Installer || ZIP

Download MConnect [For Mac/Linux OS]:    JAR

Launch MConnect. Insert account details under settings. Then Start Proxy.
Once the server communication is successful, set your browsers to use IP 127.0.0.1 and port 8080, and you can start your browsing immediately

Then switch to the VPN tab, and Connect. Wait till the status changes to CONNECTED.
For full speed, leave your browser/IDM settings at 127.0.0.1 and port 8080.you can either stick to the proxy settings, or use no proxy. No proxy gives less speed, but supports all protocols.

With Android, there are two ways of using this:

Method 1
Download MDroid [For Android]: MDroid.apk

After installing, launch MDroid, insert your account details, then click Log In
Once logged insuccessfully, set your Access Point (APN) to use IP 127.0.0.1 and port 8080, under Mobile Networks in Android Settings.

If you get a network problem message, disconnect/reconnect your data, and try again.
Not all apps will work with this, especially chat/social-networking apps. Here's where ProxyDroid comes in. Download from ProxyDroid.apk Start ProxyDroid, and fill in these details, only:

  • Host: 127.0.0.1
  • Port: 8080
  • Proxy Type: HTTP

Click the Individual Proxy selection, under Feature Settings, and select apps that aren't connecting, normally, (e.g WhatsApp, BBM) through the steps listed above.
After selection, toggle the Proxy Switch button at the top to ON
Then try to use those apps again.

Method 2
This requires a valid MConnect username.

Download OpenVPN for Android from -OpenVPN for Android
After downloading, copy to your phone, and install. Don't launch yet.
Then download OpenVPN configuration files from - mtnvpn.zip
Extract the configuration files and copy the three files ending with .ovpn to a folder on your phone
After copying to your phone, launch the OpenVPN app you installed.
Once it opens, click the folder icon at the bottom right corner of the app, and navigate to the folder where you copied the config files to, and select whichever one you wish to use
The ones available are for US, CAnada, and NetherLands server locations
Once you select, it becomes imported into the OpenVPN app, and you can tap any of the profiles to connect
Once it prompts you for login details, enter your MConnect details, and chill till it connects successfully.
Once connected, it powers all your apps, and you do not need to set proxy settings

Launch your Appstore, and download OpenVPN Connect
Once it's installed, download configuration files, extract, and save to your PC, from - mtnvpn.zip
Connect your device to your PC, and launch iTunes.
Open your Apps from iTunes, and select the OpenVPN Connect app
Then drag the configuration files you extracted to the document box on the right side beside OpenVPN Connect on iTunes.
The ones available are for US, CAnada, and NetherLands server locations
Once done, launch OpenVPN Connect on your phone, and then press the + button to add the new configurations.
Once added, select the preferred VPN server, enter your username and password, and connect.
Chill till the connection is successful, and then you can use all your apps.
